Betty Boop craze

Have been seized momentarily with the Betty Boop craze. Bought her keychains, fridge magnet, even put her on my mobile screen. *lol* I was tempted to plaster her all over this site as well. With her voice saying "Booboo beeboop... beeep!" over and over again. It was only laziness (oh...& exam!) tht prevented me.

I wonder why is she so popular? Issit because she looks so sexy & vulnerable? Or is she the embodiment of what every girl/woman want to be sexually? (that would be really uhm.. scary, since she was originally a bitch(dog) character.) Or simply because she is sooo cute.... Her doggy eyes are as endearing as ever.

Here are some pics I ripped off 2 websites...(click picture to go to the site where they come from)

awfully warm

It's so stifling hot these couple of days. When one takes a breathe, it feels as though toxic warm air is being forced into the already sticky and overheated lungs that are clambering for cool, fresh, clean relief. The feeling intensifies after the shortest of walks, rendering me voluntarily disabled on my living room couch the whole weekend.

Even now, in the cool of the lab, I can feel the heat of the day still sticking to my skin, my eyes, every fiber of my body. Yuck! I'm heading home now to get a nice shower. Wash away the grime and cocoon myself in my little haven.

Argh! exam in 4 more days. Maybe I should just stay at home tomorrow to do some cramming. Thing is, I'm already itching to watch some drama or other. Temptations are always sweeter as one gets more desperate.

I spent some time in the library last weekend trying to remember the book that I read last month, but for the life of me, I can't remember its title or author. I finally remembered the story (after many many moments of really intense search of my brain.) though, and I intend to rummage through the library again to find the book. Now, if only I can be sure that the book is actually blue in colour...

no place like home

yay! Finally finished my assignment. Boy, I am always doing things way too slowly. Are there any ways to actually speed up? The only thing that flashes through my brain right now is the Australian's Olympics swimming team training method that uses alligators. Maybe I should start setting up some buckets of worms that will upturn and drop on my head whenever I start wandering. *haha...nutso*

Anyway, I spent the last week or so sleeping in this motel room with erm, many holes everywhere. There were 2 golf ball sized holes on the walls, a few dents in the ceiling, a torn lamp shade, a few holes on both the bed covers and a biggy at the back of the tv cabinet (can't really begrudge them that, at least there was a cabinet.). Only one of the lamps were faulty though (woo hoo!). The towels were white but had way too much bleach smell. But what I hated most was the unidentified puke smell emitting from somewhere near the toilet. I gave up trying to get rid of the smell after pouring/scrubbing anti-bacterial liquid, soap, lotions, shampoo, even tea! Fortunately, the smell dissipates as you get further away from THE area.

The bed was nice, comfortable and clean though, which was what mattered most. No nasty smells to keep one awake. Pretty much blacked out everytime I hit the pillow.

One nite, I saw this spider the size of half my thumb crawling down from the dead centre of the ceiling on its single strand of web. Did you know that we humans actually eat insects when we sleep? Haha... yup, I am still wondering whether that spider had ended up as some sort of supper.

Although, honestly, insects and animals have been used for medicinal purposes before. Maybe at night, our stinky mouth would attract the right kind of insects to crawl in and cure us of one sickness or the other. *lol*
