63,000 dead & still counting...

Sometimes, even 1 death would shake the world. And sometimes there are so much death, like the earthquake recently tht wiped out so many lives, that numbers need to be rounded up.

If we were to mourn for just a minute for each life tht has suddenly been removed from this plane of existence, then we would be mourning for the next 44 days. The implication is so large, tht somehow the brain finds ways to lessen the impact. And what is mourning? Is sitting down, crying, staring into the empty sky, a kind of mourning? Is the act of imagining what those last moments were like a kind of mourning? Some people busy themselves dwelving into the statistics, the 'why', the exact 'when', the history, the cause. Others follow the news to be updated with the newest insight, or number of death. We all somehow have this fetish delight in getting the numbers right. Maybe tht is a sort of mourning. sort of loose ourselves in the numbers. I just hate to imagine tht a few year from now, someone saying something like "23700 people died then." *shakes head and put on a sad face.* -or- "such a disaster. Nothing is more unyielding than nature itself." and *tsk*s away...

mourning (noun) : state of sorrow over the death or departure of a loved one; the passionate and demonstrative activity of expressing grief

Would you be willing to put down everything that u r doing rite now, jump on the next plane to Acheh, & volunteer urself to help out there?

Saturday 25th December 2004 ~~~X'mas is here ~~~

food glorious food

ah... went for my virgin visit to Max Brenner. The cold shot is nice, the suckao is good, the souffle is sinful, the fondue is passable, the traditional spicy hot chocolate is an acquired taste, the avocado, egg plus salad Max's roll is digestable. All in all, a filling brunch.

The Swiss Culture has yummy chicken wings, the potato salad and Swiss Rosli are o.k.. I rate restaurants by the potato salad they serve. It usually works. If the salad is good, everything else is usually great. Will give them 3 stars out of 7.

Besides being a potato salad freak, i'm also a self confessed sake sashimi (read: fresh raw salmon) freak. So dinner tht consisted of sake sashimi, toru soba (cold noodles), gyoza and chawamushi is ahh.... heaven....

Merry x'mas everyone....

I wonder how a salmon souffle would taste like? & cheese fondue? nyum....

in limbo

In the past few days, i have been transferring the files in bravehost to everywhere else (geocities, my own pc, freehostdomain, xanda, etc.) because i was seriously thinking of moving my site. But since the problem has solved itself (i think the congestion might be due to myself linking this site to over popular sites.), i'll just stick on to this host.

If tht is not it, then i'll investigate the other revenues again. Did i mention before tht i suck in problem solving?

resolution: go more into details. The devil is in the details.

oh x'mas gifts oh x'mas gifts, so many friends so little time.

another resolution for next year: Prepare earlier!

horror

Finally, I can see this webpage again!!! *prostrate & weep* ( such emotional huu haa can only be appreciated by dingdongs like myself.) Bravehost has been barring all my attempts to access this site for the past 3 days. Did anyone else miss this site as much as myself? Seeing I am the biggest fan of my own website, I can hardly feel unaffected by this.

I suppose i could go on lamenting about the bad luck to encounter such a grevious error in the web hosting, but something i read lately is keeping tht urge away. The writer was saying tht youth these days are such sissies tht they (or us... whichever side u wanna be on) will stir up a storm over the tinniest bit of inconveniece. I am shamefaced to admit i am often in that category. so, now i'm trying to not so easily get aggreviated. *lol*

But let me just complain for a few more lines, ya?(haha, can't resist) How on earth could I have exceeded the bandwidth of my website when this is such a remote site? (o.k., i wanted to go with 'exclusive' site but that's like rubbing it a bit too hard.)

Anyway, i'm thinking of changing my web hosting to geocity, but, man, they have such a lot of restrictions on the MB of uploads! Have to rethink this. Anyhow, as a result of this 'hiccup', i'm thinking of getting a proper blog instead of bothering with all these troublesome housekeeping.

picking the brain

i've been visiting (on average) around 10 different blogs everyday since Tuesday. Reading other people's blog is really very much like snooping, but it's legal & well, pretty much, sanctioned. There are really quite a many things that can be learnt and absorbed when randomly accessing these jottings of people fm all around the world.

And since all these accesses are random, it's a sort of fate that enables one to stumble upon another persons words. Very much like unearthing some hidden treasures.

However, there are some standard blogs tht i like to visit almost daily to looksee looksee, like v's, fuggingitup & haruko's (a cuz of mine). it's like keeping updated on wat a friend is up to, a silent conversation, a mutual or one sided understanding of friendship.

season for change

Feel so restless lately. It's as though i can't keep still. I changed my hairstyle, changed my cubicle order, change the cd in my player (like everyday), change the show i watch every few hours, change watever i'm working on like every few minutes, i can't even stay on a webpage for too long. (i have been doing a few other things while attempting to write this one paragraph.)

i feel as though there is this grand event about to happen, and if i sit still, it will just elude me. Ah, strange.

Another reason for these hyper-active(ness) might also be because i ate too much lately, causing some power surge in the body system. haha!

By the way, check out this wicked Blog. No wonder it's so popular, these girls (i'm wondering whether it is actually just one girl and her alter-ego) really can insult with a flair.

sheepish

This drawing cum picture business is really very hard to keep up. I think i am just not cut out to be the visual type. Better stick to words.

Although I initially wanted to post some nice pics that i've seen on the internet, I sort of feel that it is like ripping off other people's creative work . So, as an alternative, i thought of taking some pictures of my own. Tht didn't go well either. Let's just say all those photographers out there must be really passionate and brave.

Lately i've been thinking, what am i truly passionate about? Alright, i am into movies and dramas. But i'm neither into acting nor directing. Plus, it's more a way to fill up some gaps rather than a soul-resonating sort of career path. Some lady interviewer once asked me what is my dream job/work. Any dream would do. I could not really answer her then. Is a person really an empty shell without dreams to fulfill?

I thought of a dream job recently. But i shall keep it undercovers for the time being. What is your passion?

some stuff

Having written so many words last month, I myself am growing tired of my grandmother-like long-windedness. Thus, this month, I have decided to let visual representations note down the days gone by.
