Twilight
I bought Twilight before the movie came out but did not get a chance to read it until after we've watched the movie. Enthusiastically purchased the other 3 books after Ru said the book was way better than the movie. Although I felt they did a pretty good job with the movie, given the material they had to work with from the book, I suspect many people will always feel that movies would never compare to the original work. But sometimes, words that sound good in our mind as we read it to ourselves just won't translate that well on a big screen when time is of the essence and action and brilliant scenes are anticipated.

New advisor: back to the drawing board
I thought tat I am finally able to submit and graduate by this year before my prof's sudden demise. However, with a new advisor, it also means a new point of view. And this prof's p.o.v. is more simulations, hence, another delay to my completion. Hopefully, i can still graduate nxt year. fingers very crossed.

IPG Conference
This was the conference our departed prof initiated before he passed away. We naturally gave our helping hand to make sure everything ran smoothly. It was great fun helping around and getting to take pictures while the presentations were being given. We heard a few very good talks and got to know a few more fellow researchers. A memorable experience indeed. :)

Visa for Maurise
I am writing this post many months after it happened so I hardly feel its trouble anymore. But back in december, we were in such a disarray. We (all 3 of us) trooped down to the australian embassy to get a visa for M only to find out dat unless we get her employment pass (EP) renewed, the visa would not be approved. So, we then went about trying to get her EP renewed only to find out this can only be done after many phone calls and faxes and emails. So, 2 weeks later, with documents intact, we went to get the visa again, but due to some signature problems, I had to make a double trip back. And the fact that x'mas was around the corner by then, and there were many holidays in between, we were all sweating and worrying about obtaining everything in time.
Well, ultimately, everything was obtained and yay... we had our visa.

JLPT4
Today, Nyx and I went to the examination center together to take the JLPT4 exam. Wow... there were so many people, almost the whole school was filled up. We assumed all the tests (JLPT4 to 1) were held at the same place but only realized later that this was not the case. Only the ones taking the part 4 exam were being tested there. haha, I never realized there were so many japanese language lovers here.

Gameslah
Started buying games from gameslah a few months back and hv been quite hooked playing games like puzzle bubble, sudoku and such. I liked that they offer you the chance to play the full game within an hour just like Big Fish.
Currently reading: Breaking Dawn (Bk 4 of Twilight Series) By Stephenie Meyer - The best book of the 4. A great ending to a great series.
Just finished reading: 1. Twilight (Bk 1 of Twilight Series) By Stephenie Meyer - I found that the movie quite closely followed the storyline. A nice recap in my case.
2. New Moon (Bk 2 of Twilight Series) By Stephenie Meyer - My least fav of the 4 because Edward was not by Bella's side.
3. Eclipse (Bk 3 of Twilight Series) By Stephenie Meyer - Abit draggy at times, but still compelling enough to make me stay up way past my bedtime
