The Kransky Sisters
Heard it On the Wireless

Please go to you-tube and watch some of their performances. It was amazing. I loved all 3 of these weird sisters with their weird instruments and even weirder 'adventures' and tales. And they were nice enough to sit outside after the performance and sign on the albums we bought (or tea towel, whichever floats ur boat). Ru tried to take some pics, but we were both too nervous in the presence of the sisters to perform our best.

NANU
Right. NANU was our second Esplanade venture of the month. The whole gig was quite similar to the one they presented in my school a few years before, except that this time round, they have a beat-box dude with 'em. Pretty entertaining in a light and easy way. The tix should definitely b cheaper. hehe...
My lament at such times are always the same; that no pictures can be taken. Sucky...

Heavy Shopping
Last year, I made a vow not to buy any new garments until I finally finish my studies. Now that the end is near, I've jumped the gun and started my big buys. *groan groan groan*

Delicious Jap Food

Best Jap food i've had in months. MOF, the name of the restaurant, stands for Ministry of Food. Tacky name but foodwise, I think it't the best Jap food I've ever had. Their salmon were thick with nice layers of fat, the beef shabu-shabu set comes with very delicious salad and the potato salad was, hmm hmm *drool* The last and the best is the amazingly yummy fried swee potato & yam with creamy ice cream and mango topping. Oh, it was heavenly.

Tommy's Workshop & Yummy dinner @ Raffles

It's scary how time catches up on us so suddenly. I was just giving myself one of my "pats on my own back" for having caught up with my blogging and miscellanous stuff like, oh I don't know, getting another chapter ready to be baked, when, bam, another 2 months have passed. *Gulp*
Anyways, let's talk about Tommy's Workshop. If I remember right, this is the first time I actually go for a puppet show. In this show, Tommy and another lady (I forgot her name, was it Penny?) from Ireland regaled us with their puppet tales, while around us, the kids shouted along with the tales (no, the kids were not being rowdy, it's part and parcel of these kid shows). We got the tix sort of free coz the organizers changed the timing of the show and as a token of apology, offered to pay us back for our tix. I felt abit guilty accepting the cash, but, well, like Ru said, we needed the cash. so there.
To appease our guilt, we decided to use the money returned for a nice meal. The pics above did not really show justice to the nice food we had. For the main dish, I was too famished to bother taking the pics, but basically, we both had their different specialty spaghetti. The drinks were both superb. Mine was the autumn fruit punch whereas Ru's was a lime soda. Pretty and more importantly, deliciously thirst quinching. Really hate those drink that look beautiful but taste like cough medicine. For dessert, we shared the rum soaked plum on chocolate souffle. It was yummy. The hostess was really kind to chat with us and *sheepish* made us eat the plums up. Ok, so Ru ate most of 'em, I could only stomach one.

Dinner + Sweet Rain
Haha... look Ru, I've finally ridden the front page of my blog fm the curry puffs! Anyways, if anyone else is actually visiting this website, do take a few minutes to read my blog from the previous couple of months too. I have finally taken the time to fill 'em in.

So, these were the stuff we ate before we went for our 'Sweet Rain' movie. The only thing I remember now fm the movie is Takeshi Kaneshiro's different hairstyles. (But then again, that was the 1st reason I wanted to watch the show. hehe.) We both liked his last one best. When it comes to reaper movies, Meet Joe Black with Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins is still my all time favourite.

My student & I
I had been complaining about my student this year to countless people around. I guess i'm basically a person who loves complaining till no end. But everytime I complain about him, I regret terribly afterwards, because, honestly, I don't think I was/am any better than him, intellect and character wise. hehe...
Currently reading: Cirque du Freak by Darren Shan - Have been reading so many young people books lately. The one is a combi of about 16 books or so. I'm not sure. So far, I've read Bk 1,2,3,5,6,7 & 8. Pretty much about a boy's adventure as a half-vampire. I hv a naggy complain about Darren Shan (the writer not the character in the book). Why do his characters all sound so ... ugly? Sigh... very dissapointing for the imagination. Imagine Mr. Crepsley, the nice vampire with a scar along one side of his face, fm his mouth to somewhere near his temples, making him a sort of half an upset Ronald MacD when he snarls.
Just finished reading: Lord Loss, Bk 1 of the Demonata also by Darren Shan - About Grubbs Grady playing chess to save his life.
It's Superman! by Tom De Haven - A story of Clark Kent, but set at around 1937. Very old fashion, and not very heroic. I prefer smart heroes. hehe.
Kushiel's Chosen by Jacqueline Carey - Bk 2 of the Kushiel series. I didn't know until later that she wrote all the way to Book 5. I have had enough of intrigue for the time being. It's a pretty happy ending, and I wanna rest my head fm all those confusing alliances and evil plans Miranda cooks up.
